Dear CCSI Families:

School Board Announcement
(Results of the February 10, 2009 meeting)

Beginning April 6, 2009, all classes at CCSI will be taught four days per week. This will result in a full day of school on Friday for all class levels. Due to the change in scheduling, CCSI will no longer be able to offer E-Zone on Friday mornings. We would like to thank Lisa Stewart for all the time and work she put into making E-Zone possible.

The greatest change concerns the Monday home school day. CCSI teachers will no longer be preparing home school assignments. Starting in April, Mondays will be reserved for parent run home education. Please monitor your student’s progress in class and focus on areas of weakness during this home education time.

Also, the school board has decided to proceed with the plan to bring the calendar year for both tracks closer together. In order to accomplish this, we will be lengthening the English Track’s spring break to two weeks and expending the school year until June 26, 2009. Alternately, the Japanese Track will also end the semester on June 26, 2009.

We feel that these changes are in the best interest of the school and its families. The school board and teachers are working hard to provide a quality education to the children of this school and to accomplish this task with the people and resources that God has provided.

E-Zone Schedule: February 27, March 6 & 13th.
The final E-Zone will be held on March 13, 2009. On this day, we will celebrate the countries of the world. Students are asked to dress in clothes from around the world and to participate in a potluck lunch by bringing a dish from another country to share with everyone.

Tennis Schedule: February 27, March 6 & 13th.
Please remember to dress for tennis after lunch and to stretch before class. (3:00-5:00)

理事会からのお知らせ
(2/10の会議報告）

2009年4月6日からCCSIでは週4日間授業を行うこととなります。そのため金曜日は終日、授業となります。それに伴い、金曜日のE-Zoneの時間を持つ事はできなくなります。今までE-Zone コーディネーターとして労をして下さったリサ・スチュワート先生に感謝します。

この大きな変化は、月曜日のホームスクールの日に影響します。今後、CCSIの教師はホームスクールの課題を準備しないことになります。4月から、月曜日は各家庭親が自宅教育を進めていく日となります。この自宅教育での時間は、学校での授業進歩具合を見つつ、各生徒に必要なところに力を注ぐ時間として用いて下さい。

さらに、理事会は両部の年間スケジュールを合わせていく方向で進めていくことに決定しました。そのため、英語部の春休みを2週間にし、また年度末を6月26日まで延長いたします。それに伴い、日本語部も6月26日に学期終了となります。

私たちは、これらの変化が学校と各家庭にとって、最善の方法だと感じています。理事会も教師も、生徒達により良い教育を提供できるよう、神様が備えて下さっている限りある人材とリソースを用いて、励んでおります。

皆様と共に歩ませて頂ける事、うれしく思っています。

最後のE-Zoneは3月13日です。この日は、世界の様々な国を覚えてお祝いします。その日は、各生徒は好きな国の衣装を着、E-Zone後ポットラックランチの時を持ちますので、好きな国の食べ物を一品持って来て下さい。

授業前に着替え、ストレッチをすませておくように。
