PRAYER NEEDS 

Please pray for our teachers and students as we near the end of the spring quarter and the end of the school year for the English track.  Pray that we might “hang in there” with joy and enthusiasm for learning.

DRESS CODE

Just a reminder: as it gets warmer, students will be tempted to wear immodest shorts and tops for PE.  Please remind them to dress modestly for this, as well (no short-shorts or tank tops/shirts off the shoulders).

FEU OPPORTUNITY

服装規定について

FEUの機会

「怒り」に関してのセミナーが６月１日１２：３０から１５：００まで誉田チャペルで行われます。講師はポールビショップ先生です。バイリンガルで行われ、参加費は無料です。昼食はご持参ください。

PRAYER NEEDS 

Taylor, one of our interns, came to Japan with very little pledged support, but a lot of faith.  He continues to carry a support deficit, and we covet your prayers that God would lead him in erasing this deficit.  If you would like to be part of the answer to these prayers, please talk to Yoji Horino.  

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL TIME

This week the students had two special opportunities to hear from godly men of science. On Wednesday, Dr. David Snoke, and again on Thursday, Dr. Doug Mullens amazed our students with the abundant evidence for God in our fearfully and wonderfully made bodies. Let’s give thanks to God for making this possible!

TRASH/ GARBAGE: Lunch trash and snack trash!

As the new school year gets going, let’s not forget our trash campaign! Please have your student bring all their snack and lunch trash home with them each day.  We’ve been doing well; let’s excel still more!

2014 CCSI BAZAAR

The 2014 bazaar was listed as an event which our community wanted to include in our yearly schedule; however, it has not yet been added to the calendar.  

This is a request for each family in our community to: 1)reconsider whether we should have the bazaar, or not, and 2)if interested, volunteer to be part of the organization or execution of the event.  Please inform Carol or Kumiko of your thoughts and intentions.  Thanks.

If we decide to have the bazaar, Saturday, May 31, looks like the best day for it. (The annual Talent Show is scheduled for June 20).

インターンとして来てくれているテイラーさんは強い信仰を持って、少しのサポートで日本に来て下さいました。全ての必要が満たされていない状態で今は生活しているため大変厳しい状況に置かれています。神様が彼の必要を満たして下さるようにお祈り下さい。また、この祈りの答えの一部として助けて下さる方がいらっしゃいましたら、堀野陽二までお声かけ下さい。

スペシャルデボーション

CCSIの生徒達は二人の理系の先生方にお話を聞く機会が与えられました。水曜日にはデービッドスノーク博士、木曜日にはダグミュレンズ先生が神様の奇しくも恐ろしく造られた私達の世界や体について話して下さいました。神様がこの事を可能にして下さった事を感謝します。

新しい年度も始まりましたがゴミ削減キャンペーンはまだまだ続いています。お昼ご飯の際に出るゴミはお家にもって返って下さい。いままでの勢いでこれからも頑張って行きましょう。

２０１４年CCSIバザーは今年のスケジュールに入れたい一つのイベントでしたが、一年カレンダーに入れる事が出来ませんでした。

CCSIのコミュニティーの家族の方々へのお願い：１）バザーをやるか、やらないかを再考する。２）もしも興味がある方がいらっしゃれば、イベントの一部、もしくは執行係になって下さい。提案、質問などがあれば、キャロルもしくは久美子までご連絡下さい。ありがとうございます。

Akiko Kunii’s mother is still in the hospital trying to get stronger so she can come home.  Please continue to pray for Akiko and her family.  Please also pray for a spirit of love, grace and cooperation to continue and grow stronger in our CCSI community.

TRASH/ GARBAGE: Lunch trash and snack trash!

Our thanks to everyone for being faithful in taking lunch trash home and thus reducing the volume of school trash.  Now that we have that step down, let’s not forget to take snack trash home as well!

INFLUENZA POLICY

Hopefully we are past flu season, but just in case:

Have your child tested quickly after flu symptoms appear.

Keep your child home for an additional 48 hours after the fever has gone down and the doctor issues an OK.

If one child is home with the flu, please have any siblings attending CCSI wear masks during school in order to protect other students.  

Let’s also all observe good health habits.  Let’s wash our hands thoroughly, get a good night’s rest and eat healthy foods. 

And remember: Rubbing Vicks on the bottoms of your feet at night can help to curb a cough. Eucalyptus oil also helps.

SPRING FEU: Family Education Unit

The FEU’s (Family Education Units) are an important time to learn and communicate within our CCSI community.  The next FEU will be held on the morning of Saturday, March 8, from 10 a.m. - 12 and we heartily encourage all parents to attend.  We are calling this FEU “CCSI 101.” It will cover the history and foundations of our school. See you on the 8th!

WE HAVE MARCH 2014 GRADUATES!!

Kotoha Dedachi and Emma Hirohashi will be graduating from the 6th grade this year.  The ceremony will be held on March 15 at 11am.  We would like to make this a tea-time, and request that each family provide a dessert - anything from fresh fruit to baked goods. Congratulations, Emma and Kotoha!! May God bless you!!

春のFEU：ファミリー　エジュケーション　ユニット

FEUはCCSIのコミュにニティーのなかで学び、話し合う大切な機会です。３月８日午前１０時から１２時までの間に次回のFEUが行われます。親御さん全員に来て頂ければと思います。今回のFEUのタイトルは「CCSI　１０１」です。CCSIの土台と歴史について話します。8日にお会いしましょう。

３月に２０１３年度卒業生のお知らせ

出立ことはさんと広橋恵満さんが今年度を持って小学６年生を卒業します。卒業式は３月15日　午前１１時から開催されます。式後はお茶の時間を持ちますので、各家族につき一つデザートをもってきてください。（果物から、ケーキなど）ことはさんと恵満さんおめでとうございます！神様の祝福がありますように。

TAKING A BREAK

Due to Akiko sensei’s need to support her mother during her illness, she has recently been unable to teach.  Kumiko sensei has carried double responsibility for a few weeks, and in order to give her a rest, CCSI will take a break from regular classes this Thursday and Friday (Feb 6 and 7).  Assignments for home schooling will be sent home with your student.  Miss Karner and Taylor will be at the school during school hours for anyone wishing to do independent study here (and maybe some extra tutoring in English!), however, there will be no formal classes.  Please let Miss Karner know if you wish to send your student here.  Thank you.

出立家では美登里さんのお父さんの手術の結果を待っている所です。明子先生のお母様は手術を受けるだけの力をつけるためまだ病院に入院中です。お二人の為にお祈り下さい。

学校がお休み

明子先生はお母さんが入院中のため学校の業務を行う事が困難になっています。そのため、久美子先生がこの何週間か一人で授業の責任を負って来ました。先生がお休み出来るように、CCSIは通常の授業を木曜日と金曜日（６日、7日）休止する事となりました。生徒達にホームスクールのための課題を持たせます。教育館にはカーナー先生とテイラー先生がいますので、学校で先生達と一緒に学習を（英語の授業も可）したい子がいましたらお越し下さい。通常の授業はありません。学校にお子さんを預けたい方がいらっしゃいましたらカーナーさ先生までご連絡下さい。ありがとうございます。

PIANO LESSONS

Our new intern, Anne, is a classical pianist and has offered to teach piano lessons to any three interested students. She will teach at the educational building on  Thursdays, between 3:45 and 5:45.  Lessons will be 30 minutes long and there will be no charge.  If you are interested in taking advantage of this great offer, please let Anne or Carol know.  There is one spot left.

CASSEROLE DISHES AND BREAD PANS

There are quite a few casserole dishes and bread pans still left from the Welcome Barbeque!  We are storing them on the third floor, but when space is needed they will be donated to a recycle shop.  If one of them is yours, please come and claim it!  Thank you!  And thank you for the goodies that came in them!!

ディボーション

今週末は第一サムエル記22章を読んで来てください。

ピアノ講座

新しく来て下さった、アンさんはクラッシックのピアニストで、三人の興味のある子ども達にピアノを教えてくれる事になりました。毎週木曜日の３：４５分から５：４５分までの間、一人３０分の個人授業をして下さいます。レッスンは無料で、教育館で行われます。もし、興味のある方がいらっしゃいましたら、アンもしくはキャロルまでお知らせください。後一人分だけ空きがあります。

キャセロール容器とパン焼き容器

ウェルカムバックバーベキューの時の料理を入れた容器がまだ学校に残っています。今の所は三階で保管されていますが、場所が足りなくなって来ましたらリサイクルショップに寄付されます。もし心当たりがありましたら学校に取りに来て下さい。ありがとうございます。中に入っていた物もおいしく頂きました。

DEVOTIONS

This fall, Eric Noll will be doing Tuesday devotions on the life of David.  We would like to request that each weekend you and/or your child read portions of scripture to prepare.  This weekend, please read 1 Samuel 20.

BOOKS, BOOKS, AND MORE BOOKS

Please search your houses, cars, backpacks for any CCSI books you may have taken home.  We are missing several copies of books which we need.  Every year it costs CCSI so much money to replace books which were never returned. Please return any that you have.

Thank you for all the books that have been returned!!

CPI

The bi-annual gathering of country-wide church planters, pastors, and others (Church Planting Institute) will be held November 12-14 in Hakone.  Since this will be during CCSI Fall Break, we would like to encourage families to attend, as well as ask any students, 14 and older, to help with the children’s program.  We particularly need translators (Japanese, English, Korean).  Some scholarships are available, but will be taken soon. Please let Carol know soon if you are interested.

LOST!

The charger cords for the school iPads are missing!  Perhaps someone mistakingly thought one was his/hers.    Please check to see if you have duplicates at home and return them to the school.  We will henceforth label them!

SPORTS DAY

Warm up your muscles for a full morning of FUN!!  Please see the attached team rosters and color themes for each group.  Please dress accordingly...the wackier, the better!  Please come at 9:30 am Saturday, Honda Chapel grounds (inside, if raining), and bring lunch to enjoy together.

明子先生が体調不良から復帰する事が出来た事について、神様に感謝します。また、明子先生が不在の間学校のお手伝いをして下さったお母さん達にも感謝します。

 ディボーション

秋学期の毎週火曜日ディボーションは、エリックノール先生がダビデの生涯からお話をしてくださいます。毎週末にぜひお子さんと聖書箇所をよみ、準備をしておいてください。今週末は第一サムエル記20章です。

本、本、もっと本

自宅、車内、バックの中に、CCSIの本がないかどうかご確認ください。来年使う本のコピーが数冊紛失しています。返却されない分の本を再度購入するために毎年多大な費用がかかります。もし見つけた場合は返却してください。

見つからなかった本が数冊返却されました。ありがとうございます。

CPI

二年に一度開催される教会開拓に関わる人たちが全国規模で集まるイベントCPI（チャーチプランティングインスティテゥート）が11月12日から14日まで箱根で開催されます。CCSIの秋休み中に行われるので皆様ぜひご参加ください。また、14歳以上の生徒は子どもプログラムの手伝いもお願いしたいと思っております。特に日本語、英語、韓国語等の通訳をして下さる生徒を募集しております。プログラムを手伝ってくれる生徒達の参加費の援助もありますが、限りがありますので出来るだけ早くキャロル校長までお知らせ下さい。

行方不明！

学校のiPadの充電器が行方不明になっています。生徒の誰かが自分のと間違えて持って返ってしまった可能性があります。もしもご家庭に身に覚えのない充電器がありましたら、学校に返却ください。

スポーツデー

明日の朝は楽しさ盛りだくさんのスポーツデーです！このニュースレターの裏についているチームの振り分け表と、チームのカラーテーマを確認して下さい。

着てくる衣装は面白ければ面白い程楽しくなります！

明日、土曜日９：３０分に誉田チャペルのグラウンドにお集まり下さい。雨天の場合は誉田チャペルの中で開催します。お昼ご飯はお弁当を持ち寄って、皆さんで食べましょう。
